Radio review – TGA#12 – “Mornings at Seven” (1945) **

Another piece of Paul Osborn wistfulness – it’s about some sisters living in a small town who are getting on in years, as is everyone. Lots of small town observation and humour; the bulk of the plot concerns a romance between the 40 year old son of one of the sisters and his long-standing 39 year old fiancée. There’s also stuff about moving into a house. It’s not really my thing although a 1980 Broadway revival was a big hit. Go figure. I suppose it does offer some decent roles for older actors.
