Radio review – BP#5 – “Arsenic and Old Lace” (1952) ***1/2

The old war house is given a strong adaptation – the lead actor isn’t a big name but all he needs to be is normal when surrounded by crazy, murdering aunts, psychopathic brothers, cousins who think they’re Theodore Roosevelt, comic Irish cops. Good fun. Someone called Donald Cook plays the lead role and Boris Karloff repeats his famous stage performance as a killer who looks like Boris Karloff.
