Movie review – “Chopper” (1999) ****

Brilliant portrayal of a sociopath with Eric Bana amazing in the lead. Apparently Russell Crowe wanted to play Chopper but its impossible to imagine anyone other than Bana doing it – the sense of humour, use of lingo, constantly search for reassurance. There are no patting dog scenes – Chopper is a fair psycho. Many terrific scenes eg Chopper stabbing Simon Lyndon. Great support performances, too.
