Bright, cheerful musical from Universal, probably influenced by Mickey Rooney-Judy Garland put on a show stories at MGM. Its about a bunch of kids who form a gang and that's about it. The best thing about it is the energy - it's full of youthful good spirits, with Arthur Lubin directing, having fun on the backlot.
I wasn't famliar with most of the cast except Leon Errol who is top billed but his role is smallish. The plot involves them borrowing instrumnets from a pawnbroker and getting confused with criminals. The tunes are cheerful enough - it's breezy and fun, much better than later Lubin musicals like Delightfully Dangerous. I think he was very comfortable at Universal at the time.
