A premise which could have made a good Rondo Hatton vehicle – an ugly man falls for a woman who he winds up marrying and turns fat. I felt the ugly angle was under-used but it does have an effective finale with the lead going mad with all the nagging of the wife and her dog. Lloyd Nolan gives a typically excellent performance in the lead.
