Radio review – Lux - “Our Very Own” (1953) **

Lux celebrates it’s 20th anniversary with a version of Sam Goldwyn’s attempt at a youth film. (One of several attempts, actually, as he tried to make a star out of Farley Granger). Its about a young girl (Terry Moore, later Mrs Howard Hughes) who discovers she's adopted - she spends the rest of the story realising that that's not so bad.

Robert Wagner is the nominal co-star but actually it's not much of a role - he plays Moore's boyfriend, who is important at the beginning (Moore's sister flirts with him) but then disappears for most of the story until the end. This was presumably while Farley Granger sooked when forced to make the film.

It's pretty bland - soapies do this every day of the week and a lot better.
