Documentary review - "RAAF Eagles Over New Guinea" (1943) **
A sort of sequel to Bismark Convoy Smashed!, also shot by Damien Parer for Cinesound. It's hard to judge because the copy I saw was silent and it was hard to get much of a sense of story from the pictures. Basically it's about the RAAF in, d'uh, New Guinea - Parer shot it so lots of it looks beautiful and there's great vision of the planes going off to battle and cruising over the New Guinea mountains. However it doesn't seem to have a narrative; to be fair, voice over might have fixed this.
